The red was inspired by the red sandstone walls of the Agra Fort in Agra, India. The Agra Fort was built in the 1500s and was used as the residence for the emperors of the Mughal dynasty until 1638. Now a UNESCO world heritage site, this is considered the sister monument to the Taj Mahal. The Agra Fort comprises of beautiful architecture such as the Jahangir Palace, the Khas Mahal, Diwan-I-Khas, and two beautiful mosques. Agra [ah-gruh] is a classic bold red, perfectly opaque in just one coat.
This nude color was inspired by the sandy capital of Iraq, Baghdad. Once known as the world’s “centre of learning” and the largest city of the Middle Ages, the city was significantly destroyed by the Mongols in the 13th century and then again by the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. Though many of the cultural and historical pieces of the city are gone, there are still some that stand today, like the Al-Khulafa Mosque. This 10th century mosque dates back to the abbasid era and its sand-toned architecture is the main inspiration for the color. Baghdad [buhg-dad] is best described as a sandy beige-nude, opaque in just one coat.

This sparkly turquoise is inspired by the stunning blue and mint artwork found in Fez, Morocco. Jaipur is inspired by the “the pink city” of India, a color scheme that’s enforced by local law and seen on every building in the city. In the late 1870’s, In order to impress the royal English family, the Maharaja of Jaipur painted the entire city pink as it was a color that represents welcoming and hospitality. Lagos is known for Victoria Island’s beaches and lively nightlife, Lagos Island’s National Museum Lagos’ display of cultural artifacts, and Freedom Park, a large venue for public events. Lagos is the most populous city in Africa and is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Lagos [ley-gohs] is described as a deep teal nail polish. Lagos has more blue tones than Kuala Lumpur.
The vibrant city of Marrakech, Morocco inspired this fiery red. Nicknamed the “rose city” or the “red city,” Marrakech’s building and ramparts are made of an orange-red clay and chalk that coats the city in a red hue at sunset. Marrakech [mar-uh-kesh] is a bright and bold red-orange color.
